I know at one time in the early '90's I saw a letter to the elders that said that someone who had a sex change could not serve in any capacity in the cong, male or female, or whichever they changed over to. For what it's worth. I don't know what the new elder's book says on these matters, I can not bring myself to read that crap anymore.

To Current Elders or Former Elders I have a question ?
by Pitchess Co-Gen inin the new elder's manuel they said that if you molested someone or been molested than you can't be an elder or a ministerial sevant even if it was before bastism .
i find that to be wrong because i thought when you got basptised than all your sins are forgivin, but thats the case here i guess..

Serenity - Oh ya, they used to monitor and remove any posts they didn't like every hour. Many have been removed in the past, that is why I took the opportunity to post as much as I could before they DF'd me. I am amazed they let me on as long as they did. I think I made a few good points with the time that I had. I got on the elder's other site he was bragging about that doesn't have apostates, already started with him on there.

I especially like writing to Wayne Skinner, read it while it is still there, somebody is likley to wake up sooner or later over there. I was going to write that Suzanne Jones has been humping her service overseer and secretary at the same time for years to maintain her pioneer status, but thought better not.

There is not as much difference in religions as I thought
by Decided ini've been attending a wesleyan church to please my wife for a year now and i find it is not as different as i thought from the jws.
they don't try to control you as the jws but the same themes are used.
the preacher talkes about worldly people the same as jws.

If you are not religous, then stop going to church. They all say basically the same thing; the end of the world is coming, pass the money plate from right to left. They basically teach the same, just stay away from catholic churches if you have a bad back/knees. They stand up, sit down, kneel, stand up, walk down front, sit back down, walk down front again, all day long. Too much for me. I hope you enjoy whatever you do. As for me, I enjoy casually drinking coffee and reading the paper on a Sunday morning now, and wait for the games to start, being it is football season now. I don't have to get dressed or go anywhere. I so enjoy my Sunday mornings now, as well as my Tuesday and Thursday evenings too. Enjoy your freedom, see what things make you happy since you no longer have the need to rush out and try not to be late for any of the numerous meetings scheduled for you.

Second car question
by ColdRedRain inthe gasket on this car is loose and is prone to overheating, but it won't be a problem for me since this is only going to be my winter jalopy.. has around 160k miles on it and the gasket needs to be tightened after 1500k miles.

Replacing a head gasket takes alot of time, and no, you can't just tighten up the old one. You will have to remove the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold, and everything fastened to both of them. You will need the head gasket, a new exhaust and intake manifold gaskets. I would recomend having a repair shop doing this work, from the sound of your questions, you are not qualified to do this work. Call a shop and get an estimate on replacing a head gasket, and add that to the asking price of the car. If you think it is worth the money, buy the car.
